Networking with gusto around design and manufacturing at Belgium's first technology fair in the context of the new normal
4,139 professionals were able to do so, satisfying their hunger for innovation at MACHINEERING 2021

Press release – Brussels, 13 September 2021

MACHINEERING has been the very first manufacturing trade fair to kick off the resumption of trade shows in Belgium, after a long hiatus in this sector. Expectations were thus running high for this very unusual edition, which had to be postponed from March to September... but they were completely fulfilled! All the visitors, who were somewhat hesitant at first, quickly turned into real networking buffs, who also enjoyed the technology demonstrations and the stunning late-night event, which many of them attended. The atmosphere at the trade fair was extremely positive, with exhibitors and visitors evidently thrilled to have the opportunity to meet again in the flesh and to immerse themselves in the latest production engineering technologies. Most of the processing technologies (welding, cutting, bending, punching, machining and 3D printing) were demonstrated on site, at the trade fair.

Despite the strict measures that are still in place in Brussels, the 12 Expert Classes were also a great success. If you missed them or if you want to see them again, you can stream these sessions via Machineering Digital (see below).

MACHINEERING is a Belgian Mecca for intelligent design and production of products, components and machines. Below you will find some interesting facts and figures:

The distribution of visitors among the top 10 sectors, which represent 65% of the sector profiles.

      1. Production, assembly, construction, distribution and processing
(of which 65% metal; 15% PVC/rubber + composites; 11.5% wood/aluminium)

      2. Mechanical Engineering – High-Tech Systems & Mechatronics

      3. Prototyping & Product Design

      4. Automotive

      5. Engineering & automation services / integrators

      6. Aerospace

MACHINEERING Digital
Those who were unable to make it to Brussels Expo last week can still visit MACHINEERING DIGITAL, the online platform that will allow them to search specific technologies offered by exhibitors, to get in touch with them, but also to watch all the Expert Classes on demand, whether they have already attended them or not. All you have to do is register on the website www.machineering.eu by clicking on the MACHINEERING Digital button to gain access to the platform.

The organiser of the event, Industrialfairs, is delighted with the extremely satisfactory outcome of this year's achievement. The feedback from the 100 exhibitors was unanimously positive about the quality of the 4,139 trade visitors who came to see them. Some 356 technical students also took part in the event (in collaboration with technology federation Agoria). The tone is thus set for the next events organised by Industrialfairs, the first being Abiss, which will be held on 7 October (Kortrijk Xpo). Indumation.be will then follow, from 2 to 4 February 2022 (Kortrijk Xpo again).

The next edition of MACHINEERING will take place in 2023, most probably again in spring (March). The new date will be confirmed shortly.
